Caldwell Hall is a three-story brick building that opened in 1967 and named for Mignonne Caldwell, a voice teacher at Belhaven for many years and founder of the original Singing Christmas Tree, one of Belhaven’s most time-honored traditions.

Caldwell features a cozy lounge with comfortable furniture, along with a small community kitchen. The building houses up to 106 female students and is surrounded by majestic pine trees shading a large terrace, perfect for chatting with friends or just relaxing after classes.

The typical double-occupancy Caldwell room is 11ft. by 16ft. They come fully equipped with a high-definition TV service as well as 1 Gbps broadband wireless internet access.

The building has cozy study rooms and community bathrooms on each floor, with laundry located on the basement level. Additionally, the third floor has three sound-proof musical practice rooms each equipped with pianos. Two Resident Assistants live on each floor, and a professional Resident Director lives in an apartment on the first floor.
