Select up to 20 examples of your artwork in any medium. At least three (3) pieces should be drawings done from direct observation. Select pieces you believe to be the very best examples of your work.
A regular sketchbook habit is an important and revealing indicator of a young artist’s potential. Therefore, we are very interested in seeing whatever level of sketchbooking you may have done.
We understand that many students interested in art have not had opportunity for prior artistic training. Please don’t let that discourage you from applying. If you have not been introduced to foundational art training, contact us directly and we can offer you advice on how to proceed. Many of our most successful art majors have not had any prior training before coming into our program.
We would prefer to meet you and see your portfolio in person, but if that is not possible, you may submit your portfolio via email.
If you have further questions, feel free to contact either Nate Theisen or Jon Tyson, Co-Chairs of Art and Design Department.
